Nigel Probert (Letters, 3 October) opposes student feedback on the grounds that the teacher鈥檚 intuition is 鈥渁 natural process more immediate and more valuable than formal feedback鈥. Sir Karl Popper definitively demolished this view some decades ago when he observed: 鈥淚ntuition prevents some people from imagining that anyone could possibly dislike chocolate.鈥
