Space for reflection is an important issue in a noise-fixated society (鈥If silence is golden, we should聽invest in it during seminars鈥, Opinion, 8聽August). However, I鈥檓 not sure that I concur with Robert Zaretsky鈥檚 argument: surely silence in the seminar room simply allows space for students to heckle?
