I agree with Martin Cohen鈥檚 comment in his review of David Edmonds鈥 Would You Kill the Fat Man? that the author鈥檚 claim for Ludwig Wittgenstein being 鈥渢he most influential philosopher in the Anglo-American world鈥 is聽an 鈥渙ver-enthusiastic assessment鈥 (Books, 14聽November).
Indeed, I聽would argue that Frank Ramsey is emerging from the shadows as a major philosopher who, unlike Wittgenstein, was not hostile to science and who, among other things, propounded a most influential theory of decision-making. Frank聽Ramsey (1903-1930): A Sister鈥檚 Memoir (2012) by Margaret Paul will hopefully raise his profile further.
