Al-Hadba University College was founded in 1994 and was the first private university in Mosul, the largest city in Northern Iraq. 
Students are divided between daytime and evening enrolments. Women accounted for more than 40 per cent of the daytime roll, but only around one in five at evening classes.
Daytime and evening classes are provided by faculties of accountancy, business management, English language, law, computer technology engineering, medical equipment technology engineering and medical laboratory technology. 
The daytime-only faculties are anaesthesia, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy and physical education and sports science.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


	Academic Innovation & Curriculum Development

	
		Lead the design, development, and continual renewal and quality assurance of academic programs, including foundation and student preparatory programs, to align with workforce needs, emerging technologies, and Vietnam’s socio-economic priorities.
		Ensure robust curriculum development and assessment frameworks that support learning outcomes, graduate employability, and accreditation compliance.
		Champion interdisciplinary, experiential, and project-based learning across all programs.
		Integrate AI, digital platforms, and immersive learning technologies into curricula.
	
	
	Teaching Excellence & Academic Staff Development
	
		Oversee academic staff development programs to build teaching excellence, digital pedagogy, and applied learning capacity.
		Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and reflective teaching practice.
		Promote academic exchange, visiting scholar programs, and joint teaching initiatives.3.
	
	
	Research Development & Innovation Leadership
	
		Direct the University’s research development strategy with emphasis on applied, industry-linked, and socially impactful projects.

Qualification and Experience


	Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant field.
	Distinguished records of academic leadership, teaching excellence, and research achievement.
	Proven experience in curriculum design, program assessment, and research development.

	Track record in faculty development and managing large academic teams.
	Familiarity with higher education in Southeast Asia and/or emerging economy contexts preferred.

Working closely with your line manager and in collaboration with administrative and academic colleagues, you will support students and placement providers through all aspects of the placement process, and in doing so play your part in seeking to maximise the number of students benefitting from a Professional Training experience.

Day to day you will be handling student and staff enquiries, maintaining accurate student information, and supporting academic staff in the delivery of Professional Training. Primary responsibility will be given for specific subject areas, but the Professional Training team routinely coordinates work across departmental/school boundaries to foster efficiency and sharing of best practice.

About you

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong customer focus and attention to detail, especially with regards to maintenance of spreadsheets and databases. Strong interpersonal skills are required for the variety of stakeholders you will deal with on a daily basis including academic staff, administrative staff, students and employers.

About the role

To provide professional administrative support to the Head of Department (HoD) and department executive team. They will be the face of the department and the main point of contact for any enquiries.? On behalf of the HoD they should have an operational oversight linking all the aspects in an academic environment by liaising with a range of people at all levels across King’s College London (KCL), i.e., academics, researchers, students, and staff in faculty and central administration across the college, as well as with external organisations and NHS Trusts and members of the public.

The post holder is expected to be on campus a minimum of 4 days per week. While individuals are designated primarily to a certain building/campus, the post holder may need to work across multiple buildings (Denmark Hill and/or Guy’s Campus) and should remain flexible when asked to spend more than 2 days on any of our campuses.

The role would suit someone who is proactive, innovative, able to work autonomously and as part of the wider Department/School team.?

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria


	Demonstrable knowledge and skills of business operations acquired through previous roles/qualification.
	Experience of providing high level administrative and/or personal support to a senior executive, using a range of IT software packages and databases; experience of complex diary management.
	Experience of organising and supporting formal committees, meetings, events and taking minutes
	Excellent communication skills, including excellent spoken and written English, in formal documents, letters, emails and other communications.
	Ability to manage financial paperwork and a good level of numeracy.
	Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and flexibly, managing and prioritising own workload, working under pressure in a busy environment and meeting deadlines.
	Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, handle situations sensitively, exhibiting a high level of awareness and confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
	Excellent people skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels, inside and outside the organization, with assurance and ease. Confident making independent decisions and knowing when to escalate.
