Carlemany University, based in the historic Casa IVO building in Sant Julià de Lòria, Andorra, is a young institution prioritising sustainability, digital innovation and interdisciplinary education. It is part of the Planeta Group’s global network of over 20 institutions, offering students access to international projects and collaborations.
Rather than traditional faculties, Carlemany is structured around three interdisciplinary thematic areas designed to tackle global challenges: World 5.0 (sustainability and global development), Life 5.0 (health and life sciences) and Management 5.0 (business innovation and leadership). Programmes focus on emerging fields such as data science, sustainable development, social and environmental sciences, and business management with an emphasis on innovation.
Education is primarily delivered online, providing flexibility for a global student body. Courses are aligned with the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and emphasise ethical leadership, innovation and global citizenship. The university promotes gender parity and inclusion, with women representing a majority in faculty and administration.
Carlemany supports student success through tailored online learning support and customer experience best practices. Its membership in the IBERONEX network strengthens international collaboration, particularly with Latin America. Though mainly virtual, the university’s physical presence in the historic Casa IVO building symbolises a blend of tradition and modernity.
