The?Data Science & AI research lab?at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking postdocs who are passionate about any or all of the following: Data Science, Computational Social Science, Behavioral Economics, Human-Bot interaction, Experimental Research, Game Theory, and Artificial Intelligence. Some of the research topics that excite us as a group include: (i) Ethics of AI and Automation; (ii) Social Media Analysis (iii) Algorithmic Privacy, (iv) Analysis of Academic Collaborations, (v) Human-Bot interaction, (vi) Network Science.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated and hard-working with a PhD in one of the following: Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Social Science, Information Science, Statistical Physics, or any other related field. The skills that we are looking for include:

Excellent communication skills in English, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential, since the research projects conducted by Dr. Rahwan are inherently collaborative and involve scientists with diverse backgrounds.

The position provides a salary higher than internationally competitive rates for postdoctoral positions, in addition to substantial benefits (generous housing, transportation and travel allowances, and educational subsidies for children), together with full health insurance and retirement contributions. We are seeking a highly motivated ElectroMechanical Research Technician to join a cutting-edge research team at the University of Southampton. This role is part of a NERC-funded project focused on the development and field testing of advanced microfluidic sensor systems for nutrient monitoring in environmental and aquaculture settings.

Working under the supervision of the project lead and with other project members and partners, you will help advance existing prototypes into robust sensor platforms through design refinement, laboratory testing, and real-world deployment.

Key Responsibilities


	Capture design requirements and specifications for sensor system components
	Design, prototype, and assemble electronic and mechanical subsystems
	Develop circuit boards (design, outsource fabrication, in-house soldering and testing)
	Design mechanical parts (using SolidWorks or similar), produce via 3D printing or machining
	Build calibration rigs and other supporting lab setups as needed
	Test the devices in the lab. Deploy sensor prototypes for field testing in natural water bodies and aquaculture systems
	Conduct data acquisition and analysis, maintain technical files, and contribute to project reports and scientific publications


About You


	A degree in ElectroMechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline
	Hands-on experience with electronics (Arduino, Raspberry Pi), circuit design, mechanical prototyping, and 3D printing
	Skilled in CAD design (e.g. SolidWorks) and familiar with fabrication methods
	Strong programming and data analysis abilities
	Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a research environment
	Open to learning new tools, skills and working across disciplines
	Previous experience in sensor or instrumentation development is desirable

The Research Laboratory of Prof. Serdal Kirmizialtin, in the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), seeks to appoint a talented researcher with an excellent record of academic success for a Post-Doctoral Associate position. The research will focus on the development and use of advanced molecular dynamics techniques to study Atmospheric Water Harvesting. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, or related field, with extensive experience in the application of molecular dynamics simulations to molecular systems, ideally in both methods and applications. Experience in Atmospheric Water Harvesting, metal organic framework modelling and machine learning is highly desirable. An ideal candidate will have a solid background in physics and chemistry, particularly in the area of statistical mechanics and percolation theory, materials modelling for fluid separation from frameworks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and excellent record of research accomplishments are preferred. Experience with modern sampling techniques such as metadynamics, machine learning; good computer programming skills, and working knowledge of UNIX, phyton, and shell scripting is highly desired. Experience in Gromacs,MAPS, PLUMED and Quantum Mechanics software will be very valuable.
