Gordon College, also known as Dalubhasaang Gordon in Filipino, is a local government-funded college in Olongapo City, near Subic Bay on the island of Luzon. Founded in 1999, it grew out of the Olongapo City Training Center and the need to provide professional courses for the city’s less privileged young people. It opened as the Olongapo City Colleges, but as it grew and evolved, it was rechristened Gordon College, honouring a family who had made great contributions to the city’s development.
From initial courses in accountancy and computer studies, it expanded its offerings. In addition to its undergraduate programmes, the college began to provide graduate programmes in education, public management and business administration.
Gordon College is organised around the College of Computer Studies; the College of Business and Accountancy; the College of Education, Arts and Sciences; the College of Allied Health Studies; and the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management. It also features a vocational technology department, a Faculty of Arts and Sciences and an Institute of Graduate Studies.
More than 6,000 students are enrolled on its courses. Among the bachelor’s programmes they can pursue are: nursing, midwifery, accountancy, business management, computer science, information technology, communications, education, hospitality management, and tourism management.
