About the opportunity

The NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (CTC) is a flagship centre of excellence in clinical trials and related research at the University of Sydney. We design and deliver trials and related research, including coordination, monitoring, data acquisition and management, and statistical analysis. Our health economics, biostatistics, systematic reviews, and biomarker teams work with trial data to inform healthcare providers about best practices.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Centre Manager to help drive the next phase of our success.

In this senior leadership role, you'll oversee the Centre's operations and play a key part in delivering major strategic projects, building strong collaborations, and ensuring our clinical trials make a real impact. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Centre Director and senior leaders, as well as lead people, processes, and partnerships that shape the future of our research.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

	Build and sustain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, industry, government, and international networks.
	Provide leadership and direction to Centre administration staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture that supports research and operational success.
	Implement and manage communication and engagement strategies, including internal and external reporting, events, newsletters, and media initiatives.


About you


	Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field with a combination of relevant training and experience.
	Proven experience in strategic and operational management within a research-intensive or complex organisational environment, with strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
	Demonstrated leadership and people management capability, including supervising, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.

Our School of Humanities, Creative Industries and Social Sciences, together with the Newcastle Conservatorium, is seeking a Senior Research and Engagement Fellow to drive an ambitious agenda at the intersection of music, health, wellbeing, and community impact. Your work may span community music, applied ethnomusicology, music therapy, arts and health, First Nations collaborations, or other innovative approaches.

The role

In this 2-year, grant-funded position, you will:


	Develop and implement a research strategy in music and health that responds to community needs.
	Lead engagement initiatives connecting new communities with the Conservatorium, including through programs, short courses, and professional development
	Build partnerships with First Nations communities, health professionals, educators, and regional partners.
	Document and share the impact of music and the arts in creating healthier, more connected communities.


Based at our Newcastle City Campus on Awabakal land, this is a capacity-building appointment designed to strengthen the visibility and reach of music and arts research, and to create new opportunities for partnership and collaboration.

About you

You are an established or emerging leader in music (or the performing arts more broadly), able to move fluidly between research, practice, and community engagement. You may have built your profile through academic publications, non-traditional research outputs, innovative practice-based projects, or impactful community partnerships.

	A doctoral qualification in music (or related field)

Applicants should possess a doctoral or master’s degree in Education, the Learning Sciences or a related discipline, with a strong background in technology-enhanced learning and assessment, learning design and/or learning analytics for teacher learning and pedagogical innovation. Familiarity with theory and pedagogical implementation of digital literacy and AI literacy in the curriculum, and leadership for technology-enhanced learning and pedagogical innovation is crucial. Preference will be given to those with expertise in innovative methods of assessment and/or advanced statistical methods, such as multiple linear regression, mediation analysis, multilevel modeling, and/or latent variable models. Experience in managing and analyzing large datasets, and the use of generative AI tools for research purposes are relevant strengths. The appointee should also have a high level of writing proficiency for academic purposes and for a general audience in both English and Chinese. Good organizational skills, the ability to work independently and interdependently within a team on a tight schedule are essential to succeed in this role. Applicants in the final stages of their PhD studies may be considered for appointment as a Senior Research Assistant.

The appointee will work closely with the Principal Investigator and the project team, to conduct research in a project on “An ecological evolutionary approach to curriculum development and teacher learning for artificial intelligence literacy”. The advertised position is based at the Institute for Canon and Religious Law and serves to promote junior scientist in the field of canon law. We are looking for a candidate with academic ambitions who is prepared to conduct independent research in the field of canon law as part of a dissertation project. The topic of such a research project should preferably be in the field of the fundamentals of religious legal systems, canon organisational law, property law or concordat law.
The Institute for Canon ?and Religious Law conducts research using legal and canonical methods. At the interface between law and theology, canon law reflects on all questions of the legally ordered governance of the world's largest institutionalised religious community from the perspective of justice. Balancing individual freedom and corporate religious practice requires a critical examination of canon law. As an interdisciplinary field, religious law covers issues of individual freedom of religion and belief as well as the entire spectrum of legally relevant aspects of religion and belief. The institute, currently consisting of one professor, two doctoral candidates and one administrative colleague, offers you the opportunity to research and teach in an internationally networked team while developing your own academic profile.

Your future tasks:

You will actively participate in the research and teaching programme of the Institute for Canon Law and Religious Law as well as take on administrative tasks. This includes:


	You will contribute to research projects and studies in the field of Catholic canon law and/or (state/international) religious law.
	We expect you to complete your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
	You will work on your dissertation and its completion.
