Istanbul Gedik University

Istanbul Gedik University was established as a vocational school in 2010, and was given university status in 2011.
It is the flagship enterprise of the Gedik Foundation, established in 1994 by a family enterprise with knowledge of welding, materials and metallurgy. 
Students are divided between faculties of fine arts and architecture, law, economic, administrative and social sciences, engineering, health science and sports science. There are also vocational schools offering four-semester programmes which earn admission either into undergraduate courses or the relevant profession. 
Research centres include Turkey’s first Centre for Bangladesh Studies, a Research and Applications Centre for Women’s Entrepreneurship and the Welding Technology Application and Research Centre, which focusses particularly on welding with aluminium.
The university has relationships with more than 40 overseas partners, including Universiteti Barleti in Tirana, Albania, Kazakhstan Information Technology University and Pakistan Superior University.

	Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to seamlessly switch between roles as needed.


About You

First Department of Surgery is a?therapeutic, educational and research clinic of the St. Anne?s University Hospital in Brno and the Faculty of Medicine of MU. It is a?long-term provider of specialized surgical care of a?higher degree with a?comprehensive multidisciplinary background and ensured continuity of intensive and rehabilitation care. It also focuses on a?comprehensive range of surgical care in the treatment of lung, respiratory, pleural, thoracic, thoracic, esophageal, surgical treatment of liver, pancreas, gallbladder, biliary tract, surgery of the gastrointestinal tract to the full extent, including pelvic floor diseases. A?substantial part of surgical care consists of general traumatology dealing with the treatment of common and complicated skeletal fractures, including arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder joints and care for serious cavity injuries. The department offers both the possibility of surgical diagnostics and, above all, surgical treatment.

The candidate for the position of a?Department Head must be a?respected expert in the field of surgery, with experience of working in a?given field and with expertise in pre-graduate and postgraduate education.

The Head of the department will be responsible for the management of the clinic, undergraduate medical education, doctoral studies, publishing and coordination of research conducted at the clinic. Assistant Professor (25260278)

The Academy invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek candidates with expertise in cultural studies, visual cultural studies, and media studies, particularly in aesthetics, gender studies, health humanities, and environmental humanities. Scholars with experience in developing AI technology or AI-empowered projects are particularly encouraged to apply.

We are especially interested in candidates who are committed to interdisciplinary teaching and research, and to developing and expanding the humanities with computational or technical expertise. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong programming skills and knowledge of AI methods, with a proven ability to advance creative expression and innovation. An ability to collaborate with colleagues from different departments in the Academy is fundamental. Applicants with a proven international research record and a history of securing external research grants will be given preference.

Candidates should demonstrate methodological innovation and interdisciplinary integration in their research. An active research programme addressing contemporary issues in cultural studies and humanities is essential, as is evidence of successful grant capture or well-developed grant proposals ready for incubation.

Responsibilities:


	Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, both within and beyond the Academy’s programmes;
	Conducting and publishing impactful research;
	Supervising undergraduate honours projects and postgraduate dissertations at the master’s and doctoral levels; and
	Undertaking administrative duties as appropriate to the level of appointment.


Requirements:


	Should hold a PhD in related fields;
	Degrees that combine innovative approaches with strong theoretical knowledge?are particularly relevant; and?
	Should demonstrate expertise in experimental methods, qualitative analysis, and/or quantitative research methodologies.


The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

About the opportunity

The School of Mathematics and Statistics are currently seeking two Magma Research Associates / Magma Research Fellows to develop and maintain the Magma computer algebra system (http://magma.maths.usyd.edu.au/magma/).

These positions are based at the University of Sydney in a team led by John Voight, and are part of an international collaboration funded by the Simons Foundation between the University of Sydney and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	design and implement mathematical algorithms, and facilitate their integration into Magma
	engage with users, researchers, and developers, both internally at the University of Sydney and externally across multiple institutions
	publish research papers on mathematical theory and the development and analysis of algorithms
	compile data sets relevant to research in these areas and integrate them into Magma
	participate in and support workshops and meetings.


About you
