?stanbul Topkap? University is a private foundation university originally established in 2009, under the name Plato Vocational School. This school underwent several transformations, first becoming part of ?stanbul Ayvansaray University in 2016, before obtaining its current name in March 2022.

Situated on the European side of Istanbul, the university now operates across multiple campuses, including Kazl??e?me, Balat, ?i?li, Altunizade, Bah?e?ehir, Levent, and Yenibosna, spanning a combined area of approximately 150,000 m?. 

Academically,  the university comprises a wide array of faculties, including fine arts, design and architecture, engineering, economics, administrative and social sciences, sports sciences, health sciences, humanities and social sciences and communication, in addition to a Graduate School of Education and the original Plato Vocational School. These faculties are divided into just over 40 undergraduate departments, offering 35 master’s programmes, five doctoral programmes, and 50 associate degrees.

Participation in exchange programmes such as Erasmus, has helped the university develop a global student network.
