Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) has a history that dates back to 1916, when it was established as the Bayombong Rural School, an intermediate-level farm settlement institution at the foot of Bangan Hill. 

Following a series of transformations, including the Nueva Vizcaya Rural High School (1930), and numerous agricultural and vocational phases, the institution gained official university status in 2005 and became Nueva Vizcaya State University.

The university’s main campus is located in Bayombong, the provincial capital of Nueva Vizcaya, a municipality in the Philippines. NVSU also consists of a secondary campus in Bambang, together forming a vibrant educational hub in the Cagayan Valley under the Philippine Commission on Higher Education’s mandate to provide advanced education in agriculture, science, technology, and education in the region of Vizcaya.

NVSU offers a wide range of academic programmes, from pre-bachelor’s to doctoral studies, across numerous fields. It is also recognised for its admissions based on entrance exams, and its commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities such as libraries, student housing, sports venues, scholarships, and distance learning, inclusive of international applicants. 

It has 14 research centres and 17 international partnerships.
