P¨¢zm¨¢ny P¨¦ter Catholic University was founded in 1635 by Archbishop P¨¦ter P¨¢zm¨¢ny during the Ottoman occupation. It is one of Hungary¡¯s oldest universities and was created to preserve Hungarian culture and values. Today, it is run by the Catholic Church and recognised by both the Church and the Hungarian government.
The university is located in Budapest and has five faculties: Theology; Humanities and Social Sciences; Law and Political Sciences; Information Technology and Bionics; and the Postgraduate Institute of Canon Law.
P¨¢zm¨¢ny P¨¦ter Catholic University offers a wide range of programmes and keeps small class sizes for personalised support. It has many international partnerships, including participating in the Erasmus+ programme.
Recent projects include helping Ukrainian refugee children and working with other Catholic universities.
