With offers of BSc (Hons) in Biochemical and Testing Sciences, MSc in Analytical Chemistry, MPhil (by research), and PhD degrees, the Department presently has around 140 undergraduate students, 70 taught postgraduate students and 100 research students and project staff.

The Department places a strong emphasis on both quality education and scholarly research/services, and has reached a significant milestone where its educational programmes are not only innovative but also accessible, and its major areas of research strength are well recognised and supported. Research Assistant Professor (25260280)

The appointee will work closely with an established research group in the Department to conduct high-quality research and showcase original and profound research accomplishments that have the potential to elevate them to international scientific leadership in?chemical science. Additionally, the appointee will help co-supervise MPhil and PhD students, establish a cutting-edge research programme in computational chemistry and machine learning, and engage in various scholarly activities, including securing research funding and?teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Applicants must possess a PhD degree and postdoctoral experience in?organic?chemistry, computational chemistry or a closely related field from a reputable university/institution. They should have?strong?research experience in the theoretical and computational studies for catalysis and synthetic methodolgy, and?an impressive publication record in peer-reviewed international journals. Prior teaching experience and a proven ability to mentor students are highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with prior faculty-level experience.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Assistant Professor (25260278)

The Academy invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek candidates with expertise in cultural studies, visual cultural studies, and media studies, particularly in aesthetics, gender studies, health humanities, and environmental humanities. Scholars with experience in developing AI technology or AI-empowered projects are particularly encouraged to apply.

We are especially interested in candidates who are committed to interdisciplinary teaching and research, and to developing and expanding the humanities with computational or technical expertise. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong programming skills and knowledge of AI methods, with a proven ability to advance creative expression and innovation. An ability to collaborate with colleagues from different departments in the Academy is fundamental. Applicants with a proven international research record and a history of securing external research grants will be given preference.

Candidates should demonstrate methodological innovation and interdisciplinary integration in their research. An active research programme addressing contemporary issues in cultural studies and humanities is essential, as is evidence of successful grant capture or well-developed grant proposals ready for incubation.

Responsibilities:


	Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, both within and beyond the Academy’s programmes;
	Conducting and publishing impactful research;
	Supervising undergraduate honours projects and postgraduate dissertations at the master’s and doctoral levels; and
	Undertaking administrative duties as appropriate to the level of appointment.


Requirements:


	Should hold a PhD in related fields;
	Degrees that combine innovative approaches with strong theoretical knowledge?are particularly relevant; and?
	Should demonstrate expertise in experimental methods, qualitative analysis, and/or quantitative research methodologies.
