The University of Eswatini dates back to 1964 when the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini (UBBS) was established in Lesotho. When student numbers started to rise, the three countries agreed to split into independent national universities and so the University of Eswatini was founded in June 1982. 
Spanning across three campuses, the university offers a diverse range of academic programmes.
Its largest campus is situated in Matsapha, an industrial town home to numerous factories, warehouses and offices such as the Coca Cola concentration plant and Fashion International.
There are eight faculties on offer at the university: Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Consumer Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Science and Engineering, and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Each faculty is divided into different departments, which offer a wide range of degree programmes at both undergraduate and graduate level. 
One of the university’s main features is its commitment to preserving and promoting Swazi culture and heritage. Through initiatives such as cultural festivals, language courses, and community engagement programmes, students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the traditions of Eswatini.

About the role

The Senior Lecturer/Reader/Professor in Hepatology will play a pivotal role in advancing the Faculty’s academic strategy by leading high-impact research into liver disease and contributing to the education of the next generation of scientists and healthcare professionals. This position will drive innovation through academic expertise in liver studies and translational research. The appointee will foster interdisciplinary collaborations, deliver research-led education, and mentor early-career researchers, ensuring King’s College London remains at the forefront of addressing contemporary healthcare challenges .The role will involve conducting and leading high-impact research aligned to the research themes of the Roger Williams Institute of Liver Studies (RW-ILS), while developing and maintaining an externally funded research programme.

Core outputs will include: publishing high-quality research outputs in peer-reviewed journals, enhancing the Faculty’s research profile and supporting its Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission; fostering interdisciplinary collaborations within the Faculty and with external research groups, including national and international partners; providing research-led teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the MBBS, MSc, and PGCert courses, ensuring alignment with the Faculty’s education strategy; supervising and mentoring PhD students and early-career researchers, promoting a culture of innovation, excellence, and academic development; contributing to the design and delivery of teaching modules; actively engaging in academic administration and committee work as required, contributing to the Faculty’s strategic and operational goals.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

Job Purpose

The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum.

Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry.

In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT.

Key Responsibilities


	Design and teach labs & practice modules.
	Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
	Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry.
	Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research.
	Ensure safety in labs.


Job Requirements


	A good degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related fields. Possessing a Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.
	Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in Electrical/Electronics Engineering environment.
	Have deep, hands-on competence in the following areas:
	
		High voltage switching
		Engineering design, modelling & analysis of conventional power, wind & solar farms

About the Position

The Faculty of Business and Law, School of Accountancy seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. The appointee will teach and coordinate at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and contribute to ongoing curriculum development and teaching innovation projects.

The appointee will also actively seek funding for and participate in research activities in the School, including cross-disciplinary research as appropriate. This position reports to the Head of School for career planning, development, and performance expectations.

Key responsibilities include:


	Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, incorporating innovative methods, authentic assessment and flexible learning, including online delivery.

Remuneration and Benefits

The classification for this position is:


	Academic Level B (LEVB) which has an annual remuneration range of $AUD134,910 to $AUD160,222 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual salary range of $AUD114,000 to $AUD135,390 pa, 17% superannuation and leave loading;
	Academic Level C (LEVC) which has an annual remuneration range of $AUD165,273 to $AUD190,593 pa. Which is inclusive of an annual salary range of $AUD139,657 to $AUD161,054 pa, 17% superannuation and leave loading.

An opportunity has arisen for a Network Manager to join the School of Biological Sciences, based at the University of Southampton. The successful candidate will support the Network leadership team to develop and manage a national network focussed on advancing UK research into Novel and Underutilised Crops.

Climate change could cost the UK billions annually, in part because of its effect on agriculture. Diversifying current farm practices is necessary for the UK to continue to grow nutritious food in a changing climate, without degrading biodiversity and being resilient to global shocks. Utilising novel and underutilised crops (NUCs) is one underexplored route to diversification. Identifying and overcoming barriers to their incorporation into the food system requires an extensive interdisciplinary team, which brings together representatives across the entire food system, from farmers, breeders, processors and retailers, via science to communities, ensuring the approaches explored present multiple best-net benefits for all involved, as well as the environment. This is the mission for NUCNet.?

The aim of NUCNet is to build a vibrant, diverse, interdisciplinary UK-wide research community to advance the understanding of NUCs, especially by bringing together diverse stakeholders from academia, farming, crop breeding, consumers, retailers and charities. The goals of NUCNet are:


	galvanise and connect the NUC research community with producers and diverse communities across the UK, generating an inclusive interdisciplinary network of expertise.
	identify barriers and opportunities for incorporation of NUCs into the UK food system.
	pump-prime small research projects and support teams to develop capacity leading to larger bids, adding value to the network and the BBSRC investment.
	develop relationships between the network and community groups to allow knowledge exchange and to influence society and policy.


About you:

The post holder will be required to manage the daily operations of the Network, working collaboratively with Network partners and stakeholders. This includes those in the leadership team at the Universities of Southampton and Reading, the James Hutton Institute and NIAB as well as other members of the University of Southampton regarding communication, public policy, IT and finance. The Network Manager will be responsible for organising and managing national events to support networking and training. The role will also require the organisation and dissemination of funding calls from the Network and the processes required for their review. In addition, it will involve the monitoring and reporting of research projects, fellowships and training placements supported by the Network.

The role requires expertise in project management, event planning and reporting. The successful candidate should have experience working independently to manage and monitor budgets and financial processes and the ability to identify and communicate with stakeholders from diverse organisations. This 60% FTE (full-time equivalent) is offered for a fixed term for 36 months. The post will be aligned to the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences, School of Biological Sciences, Highfield campus. Hybrid working will be considered.
