Your personal sphere of influence:

As PhD student in a predoctoral position at the Department of Economic and Social History, you actively participate in research, teaching and administration in the field of economic and social history of the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period, as well as in one of the key research areas of the Faculty and its Doctoral School relevant to your dissertation project (i.e. “Economy and Society from a Historical-Cultural Perspective” or “Global History”). A connection to the Cluster of Excellence “Eurasian Transformations” is possible.

Your future tasks:

You will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration, which includes:


	Independent teaching (within the scope set by the Collective Agreement) in the BA, Teacher Education, and MA programmes in History
	Support for events in the field of medieval and early modern economic and social history, as well as university administrative tasks
	Further academic qualification is an integral part of the position (doctoral dissertation, publications, participation in conferences, etc.)
	We expect you to conclude your doctoral thesis agreement within 12 to 18 months.


This is part of your personality:


	Successfully completed Master, Teacher Education or Diploma Study in History
	Sound, demonstrable expertise in economic and social history (e.g., evidenced by a BA/MA thesis, publications, or relevant work experience)
	A doctoral project in the field of the economic and social history of the Middle Ages and/or the Early Modern Period
	Very good command of Latin and/or another premodern source language
	Proficiency in German, excellent knowledge of English and, preferably, another foreign language
	Strong theoretical and methodological awareness
	Advanced IT skills and, ideally, experience with databases and digital analysis tools
	Organisational skills and willingness to contribute to the field of medieval and early modern economic and social history; participation in the Excellence Cluster “Eurasian Transformations” is desirable
	Ability and willingness to communicate research findings to the broader public
	Strong communication and teamwork skills

The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering (Civil & Urban Engineering) seeks to recruit a Post-doctoral Associate to work on a broader field of geotechnical engineering.?

Required Qualifications:

A successful applicant must have a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on one or more of the following:


	Centrifuge experimental testing (design, execution, and data interpretation)
	Numerical modeling and simulation to complement physical experiments
	Preferred) Proficiency in CAD and modeling tools such as SolidWorks for experimental design and apparatus development


Additional background in areas such as artificial intelligence applications in geotechnics, geoenvironmental engineering, geohazards risk assessment, or energy geotechnics will be considered an asset.?

Research Project:

The successful candidate will lead a research project focused on advancing the design, testing, and analysis of resilient and sustainable geotechnical systems using centrifuge modeling. The work will bridge advanced experimental testing with complementary numerical simulation to generate insights for infrastructure and energy applications.

The Post-doctoral Associate will be expected to:


	Design, implement, and analyze centrifuge experiments.
	Integrate findings with numerical models for validation and deeper interpretation.
	Develop innovative experimental apparatus (SolidWorks proficiency is a plus).
	Disseminate results through high-quality publications in reputable journals.
	Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team of faculty, postdocs, and students

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney Medical School is the largest provider of vocational medical education in Australasia and is at the forefront of online learning for clinicians. The Master of Medicine (Critical Care) was established in 2015 and has a significant enrolment of students and alumni. There are a broad range of study areas available including the basic sciences. You will be supported by a cohort of leading clinicians, academics and medical educators from retrieval and emergency medicine, anesthetics, and intensive care medicine. The Associate Lecturer will assist in the development of learning materials and assessment items, contribute to unit of study teaching activities (mainly online with on-campus workshops in some units). This includes facilitating and moderating online discussion forums and webinars, monitoring student progress and providing feedback and remediation where needed, as well as marking assignments and examination papers. You will contribute to ongoing quality improvement and educational research activity in relation to the Critical Care program.

About the opportunity

Westmead Clinical School is a Clinical School of Sydney Medical School and a major contributor to the University's reputation and achievements in Medicine and Biosciences. It is located at Westmead Hospital (800 beds), the major Teaching Hospital in WSLHD (catchment population 1.2 million people). 	provide leadership in developing and maintaining a clinical, translational or basic science research program relevant to Rheumatology

Entity: Africa Center of Manufacturing Excellence (ACME) is a Technology development platform focused on Advanced Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, automation and tooling.

Mission: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist specializing in Composites Manufacturing to lead and contribute to R&D efforts focused on advanced composite materials, automated fabrication technologies, and next-generation manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will drive innovation in thermoset and thermoplastic composites, with an emphasis on process development, automation, characterization, and scale-up for aerospace, automotive, or industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:


	Lead and execute R&D programs in composites manufacturing, including resin infusion, automated fiber placement (AFP), additive manufacturing, autoclave and out-of-autoclave curing, and compression molding.
	Develop, evaluate, and optimize processing techniques for advanced composites (e.g., carbon fiber reinforced polymers, thermoplastics, nanocomposites).
	Collaborate with cross-functional teams in materials, design, and mechanical testing to develop high-performance, cost-effective composite structures.
	Support technology transfer and scale-up from lab to pilot and production environments.
	Assisting in scaling-up new products and overseeing initial production launches across multiple co-manufacturing facilities and diverse product categories.
	Prepare technical reports, proposals, and publications for internal stakeholders and external clients or funding agencies.
	Integrating manufacturing and processing considerations into product development efforts, ensuring efficiency and feasibility throughout the project lifecycle.
	Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including colleagues in various roles and external partners, to drive successful project outcomes.
	Assisting in evaluating new equipment and technologies for potential implementation in production processes.


Qualifications and Experience:


	PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, or related field.
	Minimum 7 years of professional experience in the development of composite structures and advanced manufacturing processes.
	Hands-on experience with manufacturing techniques such as AFP, ATL, AM, RTM, filament winding, or press molding.
	Experience with smart manufacturing, data analytics, or model-based process control.
	Background in aerospace or defense-grade composite certification standards.
	Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, Moldex3D, Digimat, ABAQUS) or process modeling tools.
	Strong knowledge of structure–property–process relationships in fiber-reinforced composites.
	Familiar with non-destructive testing (NDT), quality control, and digital manufacturing tools.
	Track record of publications on recognized international peer reviewed journals as well as noticeable experience in business planning, Techno-economic evaluations.
	Strong communication and documentation skills in English. Fluency in French??would be a plus.
