MANAGERS involved in making the design of jet engines more efficient will be able to "pilot" a virtual company through a simulator to predict the outcome of making different decisions. Researchers from the systems engineering group at De Montfort University are working on a Pounds 1.2 million project to develop the software. The Product Introduction Process Simulation of the Extended Enterprise project, which will look at a range of business and technical processes in the various aerospace companies involved, could be applied to a number of other industries
