Leaders from industry and top research institutions debated the role they each play in finding and cultivating talent for the future workforce at an event hosted by ETH Zurich ²¹²Ô»åÌý̽»¨ÊÓÆµÂ and held alongside the World Economic Forum on 24 January.Â
Chaired by °Õ±á·¡â€™s digital editor Sara Custer, the panel included Carol Christ, chancellor of the University of California, Berkeley; Suzanne Fortier, principal and vice-chancellor of McGill University; Eng Chye Tan, president of the National University of Singapore; Brian Schmidt, vice-chancellor of the Australian National University; Feridun Hamdullahpur, president and vice-chancellor of the University of Waterloo; Ralph Haupter, president, Microsoft Asia; Joël Mesot, president of ETH Zurich; Mamokgheti Phakeng, vice-chancellor of the University of Cape Town; Wei Shyy, president of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; Sarah Springman, rector at ETH Zurich; Karin Vey, executive innovation consultant at IBM; Manu Kapur, chair of learning sciences and higher education at ETH Zurich; ²¹²Ô»åÌýAnna Schindler, director of urban development for the city of Zurich.
